Built for the Demands of the Modern Pilates Studio

Inside Megacore’s approach to commercial reformer manufacturing

As Pilates continues to expand globally, equipment manufacturers are responding to the demands of studios operating increasingly busy schedules. For China-based Megacore Pilates, the focus is on building reformers specifically for commercial environments, where equipment needs to withstand consistent, high-volume use.

Founded in 2003, Megacore specialises exclusively in reformer manufacturing, supplying studios, distributors and fitness brands across more than 16 countries throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

A Focus on Commercial Performance

Megacore’s approach starts well before a reformer reaches the assembly line.

Load-bearing sections are constructed using commercial-grade steel and marine-grade aluminium, with key areas reinforced to support the demands of regular studio use. Springs are individually tension-tested before assembly, with components falling outside a 5% tolerance rejected.

The carriage system uses sealed bearing wheels with nylon raceways rather than bare steel-on-steel contact. The design is intended to reduce noise and maintenance while helping maintain carriage stability over time.

Reformers are finished using electrostatic powder coating, designed to provide additional protection against chipping during transportation and corrosion in humid environments.

It’s an approach developed around the realities of commercial Pilates, where an individual reformer may be used for more than 30 sessions each week.

Reformers for Different Studio Models

Among Megacore’s most popular models are the C26 Reformer and K20 Reformer, alongside Megaformer-style equipment, foldable models and aluminium-frame reformers.

The company operates from a dedicated 20,000+ sq. ft. production facility in Guangzhou, China, and also works with businesses looking to develop their own equipment ranges.

White-label custom branding is available from 10 units. Megacore also offers Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) services for businesses looking to create or develop their own reformer ranges. This can range from adding a company’s branding to an existing reformer through to developing customised equipment for a brand or distributor.

For commercial customers, Megacore offers a three-year warranty covering the frame and mechanical parts, with replacement spare parts able to be dispatched within 48 hours.

With more than two decades in manufacturing, Megacore’s proposition is straightforward: reformers engineered around durability, consistency and the everyday demands of a working Pilates studio.
