The Pilates Journal’s 2026 Global Industry Survey gathered insights from 955 Pilates professionals, including instructors, studio owners, educators and industry professionals, to understand the forces shaping Pilates today.
The findings explore demand, business performance, instructor careers, studio operations, education, technology and where the industry may be heading next.
What the Industry Told Us
75% reported increased demand for Pilates over the past 12 months.
64% said classes are running at or near capacity.
52% identified increased competition as a major shift affecting their work.
50% of instructors surveyed on pay said they had turned down teaching opportunities because the pay was too low.
65% plan to invest in continuing education or professional development.
The findings point to an industry with significant opportunity — but also important questions around sustainable growth, instructor careers, competition and maintaining quality as Pilates reaches a wider audience.
