LA Fitness Opens Its 200th In-Club Pilates Studio

LA Fitness has opened its 200th Pilates by LA Fitness studio, marking a milestone in the health club operator’s expansion into Reformer Pilates.

The expansion brings Pilates by LA Fitness to 16 US states and Canada, with 200 studios opened in approximately two and a half years.

The milestone refers to dedicated Pilates studios located inside LA Fitness clubs. The program has grown to 200 studios across 16 US states and Canada in approximately two and a half years, according to parent company Fitness International.

The concept combines a boutique Reformer Pilates offering with the facilities of an existing health club, allowing members to incorporate Pilates alongside strength training, cardio, group fitness and personal training.

Studios use Balanced Body Reformers, with classes blending contemporary Pilates principles with athletic and functional movement. According to the company, programming accommodates a range of fitness levels and focuses on strength, mobility, balance and flexibility.

“We've created a lot of excitement in our clubs by adding 200 Pilates by LA Fitness studios. It's been rewarding to see the incredible response from our members,” said Jill Hill, President of Club Operations at Fitness International.

“Our goal was to offer a welcoming Pilates experience that delivers real results and still keep the other fitness and recovery options convenient.”

For the Pilates industry, the expansion illustrates how large health club operators are incorporating dedicated Reformer studios into their broader fitness offerings. The in-club model creates another avenue for people to access Pilates while keeping other training options in the same location.

Fitness International operates more than 600 health clubs across 25 US states and Canada. The company described the Pilates milestone as part of its continued investment in an in-club boutique fitness strategy, alongside club renovations, expanded amenities and improvements to the member experience.
