Life Fitness and Merrithew Strike Exclusive U.S. Pilates Partnership

In a clear signal of Pilates’ growing influence across mainstream fitness, Life Fitness / Hammer Strength and Merrithew have announced an exclusive partnership to expand premium Pilates offerings across the United States.

The agreement positions Merrithew as the exclusive Pilates equipment partner for Life Fitness in the region, bringing its reformers, studio solutions and program support into a broader commercial ecosystem spanning health clubs, hospitality, corporate wellness and institutional settings. For operators, the collaboration promises a more seamless pathway to launching or scaling Pilates, with integrated account management, studio design consultation, turnkey project delivery and post-installation service all part of the offer. Education and instructor training packages will also be available to support long-term program success.

The partnership reflects a broader shift in facility strategy. As CEO Jim Pisani noted, “today’s operators are expanding their offerings to support strength, movement quality, and long-term performance as part of a well-rounded training environment. This exclusive partnership with Merrithew allows our U.S. team members to extend that leadership by offering premium Pilates solutions, supported by the scale and expertise our customers rely on to deliver continued success in their facilities.”

For Merrithew, CEO Jim Heidenreich described the collaboration as a key step in scaling access to Pilates while maintaining the brand’s disciplined, science-led approach. “This partnership represents an important step in expanding access to Pilates as a foundational movement system across the United States.”

As demand continues to rise for training that prioritises injury prevention, efficiency and sustainable performance, the partnership positions Pilates as a central pillar, not a side offering, within the next generation of U.S. fitness facilities.
