Meet the Educators of The Pilates Journal Expo Miami

One of the defining features of The Pilates Journal Expo Miami is the breadth of expertise gathered under one roof.

Taking place from 11–13 September 2026 at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the Expo will bring together internationally recognised educators, studio owners, movement specialists and business leaders from across the Pilates industry. Across Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from presenters with backgrounds spanning rehabilitation, athletic performance, studio growth, contemporary Pilates and movement science.

Tracey Mallett

A globally recognised educator, creator of BootyBarre and founder of The Pilates Barre, Tracey Mallett is known for combining evidence-based movement with creativity and energy. At the Expo, attendees can expect sessions that challenge traditional programming and explore new ways of thinking about movement, including her highly anticipated No Flexion workshop Sundau and Pilates Heat - Power & Heat on the Jumpboard Saturday.

Maria Leone

Studio Owner, Bodyline Method creator and educator, Maria Leone has built a reputation for helping instructors simplify complex concepts and elevate the quality of their teaching. Her session, How to Train Your Eye,will explore the art of observation and the subtle details that can transform the way instructors assess and support clients. Her other session What Would Joe Think? also demystifies the method.

Andrea Speir

Founder of Speir Pilates and one of the most recognisable names in contemporary Pilates, Andrea Speir brings a unique perspective shaped by years of experience building a successful brand. Her sessions will blend movement, business and practical insights for instructors and studio owners alike.

Jenna Hansen

As a Master Instructor Trainer with Merrithew®, Jenna Hansen has spent years educating instructors around the world. Her session Smart Flow: Energizing the Pilates Experience will examine thoughtful programming into a connected, dynamic class experience using the S.M.A.R.T. programming framework.

Jason Williams

Known for his dynamic approach to movement and barre, Jason Williams will bring fresh energy to the Expo programme, encouraging attendees to think creatively about how they design classes and engage clients.

Rehabilitation, Performance and Movement Science

Samantha Wood

Founder of Samantha Wood Physio and a BASI Faculty member, Samantha Wood specialises in helping instructors navigate complex client presentations. Her workshop, Hip Pathologies Decoded, will provide greater confidence in safely and effectively supporting clients with common hip pathologies.

Dr Emily Splichal

Podiatrist, movement specialist and founder of Naboso, Dr Emily Splichal has become a global authority on the connection between the feet, sensory stimulation and movement performance. Her session will explore how foot function influences the entire body using the Naboso prop as a tool.

Danica Kalemdaroglu

Founder of Somaphyx® Education and Classical Pilates teacher, Danica Kalemdaroglu will show you how contemporary variations truly connect back to the foundations of the method and help instructors better understand the “why” behind the work.

Kenlie Reed

With a background in elite sport and performance training, Kenlie’s session focuses on how tyou work with athletes in The Athlete's Edge: Sport-Specific Pilates That Performs. Kenlie’s workshop will cut through generic programming and decode the physical demands of different sports and how you can build Pilates programs that directly translate to performance.

Misty Lynne Cauthen

Working with BALLance® USA, Misty Lynne Cauthen will give attendees the chance to experience the BALLance® method firsthand and explore practical ways to incorporate this prop into your teaching. Misty will make you see things differently and paired with a tool that provides spainal relief there will be nothing like this session!

Mat, Creativity and Teaching Evolution

For the first time, The Pilates Journal Expo Miami will feature a dedicated mat room on the Sunday, highlighting the diversity and adaptability of Pilates teaching.

Michelle N. Leach

Known for her thoughtful and intelligent approach to Classical Pilates, approach to movement and education, Michelle will highliht how Joseph Pilates’ original 34 mat exercises laid the foundation for the method - and how the evolution of matwork did not stop there. This session explores how second-generation Pilates elders and master teachers expanded upon the original work, introducing new exercises, transitions and progressions that deepened the system while still honouring its core principles.

Nicky Lal

Bringing her signature energy and creativity, Nicky Lal's Dynamic Reformer Flow reformer sessions to kick off the Expo will challenge instructors to think differently about movement, connection and class design.

Kristin McGee

If you are looking to understand the art of intelligent cueing - make sure you join Kristin’s session - Cue the Connection: The Language of Transformative Teaching. In this session, Kristin will share real-time strategies for creating cues that improve alignment, deepen mind-body connection, and make movement more accessible and effective for all levels. This session is designed to help instructors refine their teaching voice, create stronger student connection, and elevate the overall class experience. Because sometimes one cue can change everything.
