Revolutionising Pilates: The Online Equipment Maintenance Training Program Everyone Needs
Pilates professionals - from studio owners to instructors- share one essential tool: the apparatus. Reformers, Chairs, Cadillacs, Barrels - they are the instruments that make effective, safe training possible. Yet, while countless teacher training programs exist worldwide, there are none that address a crucial component of the industry: maintaining the equipment itself.
As the owner of Body Be Well Pilates for nearly seventeen years, I have always sought to fill gaps in the Pilates world. From business mentoring to creating innovative workshops and programs, my mission has been to provide high-quality resources that empower instructors, studio owners, and students to thrive.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, my longtime colleague, Suzanne Hazelton, discovered the Fit Reformer Online Training Course. She and her husband, Guy, began maintaining my three studios’ equipment, as well as that of dozens of East Coast studios. But the workload quickly became overwhelming - a familiar story of burnout in our industry.
Fast forward a few years: Suzanne, my sister Shannon Schober (who has managed Body Be Well studios for over 14 years), and I decided to take action. We recognized a critical gap in Pilates education and created a high-quality, online Pilates equipment maintenance program accessible to anyone, anywhere.
We reworked the original Fit Reformer program, filmed in five local Hudson Valley studios, expanded the content to cover multiple brands of apparatus and studio styles, and got the program accredited for 19 CEC’s by the National Pilates Certification Program. The result: an eight-week online program delivering in-depth training on all apparatus and brands.
This program is for anyone interested in Pilates equipment maintenance - not just instructors. Whether you’re handy with tools, own a studio, or are seeking an additional income stream, this program equips you with the skills and knowledge to succeed.
