Sydney Pilates Expo 2027: First Speakers Announced

Two leading Pilates educators join The Pilates Journal Expo in Manly, 19–21 February 2027.

The first speaker announcements for The Pilates Journal Expo Sydney 2027 are here, with Tracey Mallett and Sara Colquhoun confirmed to join the presenter lineup.

Taking place 19–21 February 2027 in Manly, Sydney, the Expo will bring together Pilates instructors, studio owners and educators for a weekend of professional development, movement and industry connection. The announcement offers an early look at the educators who will help shape the Sydney experience.

Tracey Mallett brings her international teaching perspective

With more than 30 years of experience across Pilates and fitness, Tracey Mallett has built a career teaching movement and helping instructors develop their skills.

The creator of bootybarre® and founder of The PilatesNext Method, Tracey’s educational work focuses on cueing, tactile teaching and effective group instruction. She is also a Balanced Body educator and teaches on Pilates Anytime.

Her experience spans studio ownership, international education and online teaching, giving her a broad perspective on the demands of working with different clients and class formats.

For instructors, her addition to the Sydney lineup is an opportunity to learn from an educator whose work connects technical teaching skills with creativity and practical application.

Sara Colquhoun joins the Sydney presenter lineup

Australian Pilates educator Sara Colquhoun brings more than 20 years of teaching experience and a background in professional dance.

A Balanced Body Master Instructor and the creator of Pilates with Sara on the Sweat app, Sara draws on traditional and contemporary Pilates in her approach to strength, movement and body awareness.

Alongside teaching clients, she mentors instructors internationally, sharing practical tools to support thoughtful, confident teaching. Her involvement adds another experienced educational voice to the Sydney program, with a perspective informed by both in-person instruction and digital delivery.

Pilates education and connection in Sydney

For Pilates professionals, continuing education creates space to revisit familiar ideas, ask questions and consider different approaches to teaching.

It can also be a chance to step outside the daily studio routine. Learning alongside other instructors opens conversations about the challenges teachers share, from communicating an exercise clearly to supporting clients with different levels of experience.

The Sydney Expo will combine Pilates workshops, movement sessions, business insights and an Expo Hall, connecting education with the wider realities of teaching and running a studio.

Whether you are developing your teaching practice or considering the next stage of your business, the weekend offers an opportunity to learn and connect with others working across the industry.
