KX Evolves Education Offering with Launch of KX Institute

KX Pilates has announced the evolution of its education arm with the launch of the KX Institute - a more accessible, digitally-led approach to instructor training that reflects the changing demands of both the industry and the modern learner.

While KX has long delivered education internally, the Institute signals a shift toward a more flexible model, opening access beyond its existing studio network. The platform introduces a suite of entry-level certifications, including Dynamic Mat, Dynamic Reformer, and a combined Mat and Reformer pathway, each offering 20 CPD points. Notably, no prior fitness qualifications are required to begin.

The courses are delivered through an interactive, self-paced digital platform, with a key point of difference being the integration of ongoing mentorship. Learners have the option to have regular touchpoints with a mentor in person throughout the process, adding a layer of accountability and guidance often absent in fully online formats.

As CEO Selina Bridge explains, “Our hybrid model allows learners to train from anywhere, without needing proximity to a KX studio, while still maintaining a level of guidance often missing from fully online education.”

“We’ve designed the KX Institute to meet learners where they’re at, whether they’re completely new to fitness or looking to expand their skillset. The combination of flexible digital learning with in-person mentorship is critical in helping build confidence and properly prepare learners for practical assessments, which is often where traditional online models fall short." - Steff Doney, KX Institute Education & Mentor Lead.

Alongside its core certifications, KX Institute is also introducing a suite of short courses designed for further upskilling. This includes a strength and conditioning course, with a pre- and post-natal course also available. Each short course offers 4 CPD points, allowing instructors to continue developing within targeted areas of practice.

Importantly, the Institute can operate as a standalone education offering, while also forming part of a broader pathway within the KX framework. For those looking to go further, it provides a foundation to progress toward becoming a KX Pilates Trainer and learning the brand’s proprietary method. Early interest has been strong, with more than 350 expressions of interest already recorded.

The launch aligns with a wider shift across the KX Pilates studio experience. From May 2, all KX studios will transition to a new class programming model, marking the first significant evolution of the class experience in over 15 years.

While the signature Dynamic Reformer class remains central - accounting for the majority of the schedule - the updated programming introduces a more layered and considered class offering for all levels.  New classes include KX Active Recovery, a slower, more mindful class focused on mobility and fascia release, alongside a new KX Strength class. The Strength class incorporates elements of hypertrophy training through heavier resistance and rep-based training taken closer to fatigue - a notable shift from the brand’s traditionally time-based approach. Importantly, every class continues to hero the reformer.

“Our Dynamic Reformer class will always sit at the heart of the KX experience, but as our community grows, so does the way they move and train with us. By introducing formats like KX Active Recovery and KX Strength, we’re giving clients more choice while staying true to what makes KX Pilates distinctive – a trainer led, reformer experience that builds strength, confidence, and happiness. At our core, we remain specialists in dynamic reformer Pilates”  Selina Bridge, CEO KX.
