New to Market: Merrithew® Introduces Its First Wood Reformer

Merrithew® has launched the NX3 MAX™ Reformer, its first wood Pilates Reformer, designed for boutique Pilates studios, premium fitness clubs, hotels and wellness centres. The NX3 MAX™ Reformer was first showcased at The Pilates Journal Expo in Miami.

Crafted from FSC-certified maple, the NX3 MAX was developed by Merrithew’s engineers in collaboration with STOTT PILATES® Master Instructor Trainers and instructors from other Pilates methods. Prototype testing through the company’s Advisory Lab helped shape its final design.

Merrithew NX3 MAX Reformer Features

  • Larger carriage: A 26 × 40-inch carriage - Merrithew’s largest to date - provides more space for a wider range of bodies.

  • EasyShift Gearbar: Four positions allow adjustments without removing springs, helping simplify transitions between exercises.

  • Extended carriage travel: Longer rails provide greater range of motion and expand repertoire options.

  • Eight-wheel rolling system: Designed to deliver a smooth, quiet glide.

  • FastLock™ Shoulder Rests: Secure with a single twist for quicker setup.

  • Locking Footbar: Secures into four positions to support different exercises.

  • Multi-Position Platform Extender: Expands the movement surface for additional exercises and positions.

  • FSC-certified maple frame: A natural wood finish with curved edges and elongated lines.

“We combined their real-world experience with our engineering expertise to create a wood Reformer where design and performance work together at every touchpoint,” said Merrithew CEO Jim Heidenreich.

For studio owners considering a wood Pilates Reformer, the NX3 MAX adds a new option to Merrithew’s range, combining a warm maple aesthetic with features designed around everyday teaching and movement.
